A GAME CHANGER:-

Started in April 2008,this competition turned out to be a game changer for BCCI both in terms of finance and in meeting new talents. The league started with total eight teams representing eight different cities of India consisting of all big names of world cricket like Sachin Tendulkar,Shane Warne,S.jayasuriya and many others.
In order to decide the owners for the new league, an auction was held on 24 January 2008 with the total base prices of the franchises costing around $400 million. At the end of the auction, the winning bidders were announced, as well as the cities the teams would be based in: BangaloreChennaiDelhiHyderabadJaipurKolkataMohali, and Mumbai.

In India, cricket is not only a sport but a religion which is worshipped by billions of its fans.IPL is like a festival to india,a festival which lasts for at least 2-3 months.A festival which is celebrated throughout the country regardless of any religion and caste. With every new season IPl was setting new benchmarks. In present time IPl is considered as the most expensive league of the world cricket. It became the biggest platform for the young talents to show their skills to the nation. Not only Indian players but overseas players too considered this league as the best platform which has the capability to enhance the future cricket of their respective countries.

Many present superstars of Indian cricket Team like J.Bumrah,M.Pandey,KL Rahul,A.Rahane,H.Pandya ,R.Pant etc came into limelight through their performances in IPl and many more are on their way to secure their positions in Indian cricket team.Participating in IPl have multiple benefits and one of major among them is that it makes them financially very stable. The brand endorsements, match fees, the bidding price and much more, this tournament is lavish in its own way.

The best thing bout IPL is seeing legends of same country against each other.Playing with the rivals as a team and putting the friends in the opposite team is what we call the beauty of IPl.

CONTROVERSIES

Well, apart from the nail biting matches, IPL is also known for never ending controversies.Cold war between the players, match fixing, underworld connections and much more are the reason why IPL remains the talk of the town during its duration. There also came a time where IPL was about to put on hold due to match fixing issues but with the help of multiple discussions and court hearings it resumed but without the two teams i.e,Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on account of getting accused of match fixing. The both teams were excluded of playing IPL for two years. And in the absence of both these teams two new franchise were added in the competition i.e, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions.

IPL 2018 was the season which marked the comeback of both the teams. All eyes were on CSK as that team was the most successful team of IPL. Since this team carries huge fan following, many were expecting from CSK for a grand comeback. Luckily,it happened CSK announced their comeback with a IPL trophy in their hand.

Currently Chennai is the second most successful team in IPL with total of three titles after Mumbai indians holding total four titles.
